SELF-CARE// WINTER
Learning to Die
In Winter we are asked to let go completely into a symbolic death. No wonder it feels terrifying to slow down and just ‘go with it.’ Especially in light of the impulse of our social/cultural season where holiday parties and festivities are gearing UP. But nature’s true essence at this time is one of STILLNESS- even death. It is in the hibernation phase within the cycles of life that we set ourselves up for complete restoration and the rebirth that comes with spring. And following the impulse of the season not only makes us feel better, but also calms the nervous system, balances hormones, enhances immunity and alleviates anxiety.
If we can learn to harness this energy, to mirror it, we give ourselves the deepest level of support possible in these dark days. Come explore
